Our TOR partnership program is aimed a helping to bring together the necessary prerequisites to run anonyminizing servers: Funding, IT-competence. legal support and press contacts.

Furthermore we want to offer the protection of an active association, because particularly the administrators of Tor-servers have often contact with the authorities.

Funding

Our servers are being financed through voluntary donations which consist either of the promise to finance a server for a certain amount of time or a periodical donation to finance a server until canceled. The servers are rented with the period of cancelation in mind so that the rental agreement can be cancelled once the funding is discontinued.

The money for financing the servers is thereby being transfered over the account of the German Privacy Foundation to ensure the anonymity of our donors.

If you want to support the operation of an anonymous infrastructure in the internet with a financial contribution, you can send us a donation. If the donation shall be earmarked to be used for a certain server, please indicate that in the bank transfer.

If you want to support the operation of a server through regular donations, please contact us before doing that.

Administration

The servers are administered by two administrators each. This task is performed by experienced IT experts who already have a large knowledge in the field of server administration, administration of the different frameworks and enjoy the trust of the GPF.

The decision who administrates which server is then made by the board of the GPF because they are responsible for the servers. Who finances a server or participates in the funding of a server will be favored in the selection of the donated server. Additional proposals can be made by members of the association.

After the servers are handed over to the responsible administrators the members of the board have no direct access to the servers.

To ensure that no security risk emerges from one person managing several servers, no administrator gets access to more than two different anonymizing servers.
